Bob and Halina's Dance
PASSIONATE ABOUT DANCING

F.A.Q
Below is a list of our frequently asked Questions

Q: What can I expect at group lessons ?
Most people learn to dance at group classes although some
people prefer private lessons or a combination of both.

Q: How do I go about taking ballroom dancing lessons?
All you have to do is just turn up on the night.

Q: What should I wear?
Dancing is energetic so wear light clothing and take a jacket or cardigan.

Women should wear shoes which stay firmly on their feet -
slip-ons won't add to your dancing enjoyment.

Men will find a pair of light weight lace-up shoes much more comfortable than heavy-soled shoes.

You will see Bob, Halina and people who have been dancing for a while wearing special ballroom dancing shoes. As these light weight shoes are expensive you may prefer to make certain you like dancing before buying them. Dancing shoes cost between $ 100 - $ 700 or you can buy good second hand shoes.

Q: Do I need a partner?
No, but you are welcome to do so.

While we cannot guarantee there will be an equal number of men
and women at lessons, frequently dancers with some experience
are more than willing to dance with and help beginners.

Q: Do I sign a contract?
No, we do not require you to sign a contract.

Q: Do I need to book?
As with contracts there is no need to book for lessons,
just turn up on the night.

Q What is the average age group of the attendants?
Our dancers range from 16 to 93.
We have quite a few in their 30's coming along.
Most of the dancers would be between  40 - 80

Q: Is dancing easy?

Learning to dance is like learning to walk -
it's hard at first but if you keep practising it does get easier.
The first night is the hardest. You may start  learn 3 or 4 dances.
After about 6 to 8 weeks you will start to pick up the dances more easily.
Most of all it is a lot of FUN.

Q: What if I have two left feet.
That's fine because we love a challenge.
If we can teach a nearly blind person to dance
then two left feet is not a problem at all.
Did you know that some people think they have two
right feet.  They are perfect for someone with two left feet.
